The Marion Enterprise Center is an integrated office industrial park with overall design of projects governed by a comprehensive set of Design Guidelines. The MEC Design Guidelines offer affordable yet aesthetically pleasing treatments while creating a sustainable environment for its users. HHE was tasked to follow these guidelines for the MEC sites which are intended to assist in constructing and realizing the vision that has been developed through a comprehensive Master Planning Process.
The overall landscape architecture intent was to use a prairie style design that is low-maintenance, appropriate to the scale of the project, and aesthetically complementary to the building style. The building siting, parking lots and site circulation were designed to fit in with the rolling terrain of the park.
Key tasks included utility coordination; topographic, boundary and final platting and construction survey services; site, grading, utility, and landscape plans; and stormwater design for the following entities:
