Open space areas of the site were planted with native prairie grass to help promote infiltration and reduce watering demands. Plant species selected for site landscaping are also hardy requiring low maintenance and water demands. No automated irrigation system was provided for the site. A detention basin impounds rain runoff and reduces the 100-year post developed discharge to the 5-year pre-developed rate, an ecological solution.

Hall & Hall Engineers evaluated and designed a plans for the repair of sanitary sewer pipe and structures along Sherman Road, Kacena Road, Stamy Road, and Hawkeye Drive.

This project was a sewer and water service extension to newly annexed land to the northwest. The project required two lift stations to service the newly annexed area. Both lift stations had submersible pumps with wet wells with prefabricated houses for equipment. One wet well was 12 feet in diameter and 31 feet deep, the other was 8 feet in diameter and 25 feet deep. The project also consisted of many public informational meetings to gather public input and provided progress information. Property and easements acquisitions were required. The project included frequent coordination with Linn County, Iowa DOT and Iowa DNR. Both the water main and force main were installed under Interstate 380.
