Project Description:

The City of Fairfax has continued growing to the north over the past decade. These new areas are separated from the older core area of the City by Prairie Creek. Hall & Hall provided the City with a design for a new trail and bridge over Prairie Creek to offer a safe connection between the new and old areas of the City for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The project included 1,300 LF of 11’ wide x 6” thick PCC trail and a 230’ long x 14’ wide, pre-engineered steel truss trail bridge, and is the first of a multi-phase project to complete the connection between the northern and southern portions of the City. The project utilized federal funding through the Transportation Enhancement portion of the Surface Transportation Program.

Hall & Hall assisted the City through each phase of the project, including concept planning, identifying funding sources, acquiring property, permitting, design, and construction engineering.
