Project Description:

Prospect Meadows group selected Hall & Hall Engineers (HHE) to create a vision for a ‘One-of-a-kind’ regional recreation destination and sports complex. It is anticipated to provide a new level of service for both local community use and regional use through the Perfect Game amateur baseball organization.

HHE provided site master planning services to guide the development of the sports complex. This process included the site selection and analysis of three sites to determine the best candidate to accommodate the regional attraction. An analysis of site features, including current and future adjacent land uses, land forms, utility access, vehicle access and roadway capacity were part of the process. HHE worked collaboratively with a market research group to determine appropriate size, uses and amenities within the complex. Phased implementation scenarios were also studied to determine appropriate phasing to align with available budget. A site traffic impact study, also, was prepared for and reviewed by Linn County and the Iowa Department of Transportation.

The 140-acre project site will include 17 ballfields, two miracle fields, a lake, walking trails, a splash pad, a playground, a grand entry plaza, and many other site amenities. The lake will capture stormwater for storage and irrigation, and double as an amenity. Several elevated spectator viewing plazas are designed to blend with site topography and showcasing vistas.
